Alright, so Japan has taken up the burden of creating seven (Bungie ref!) short-films about the Halo series. I'm fairly neurtal about all of this, while I like anime to a certain degree, there are somethings I don't like about it...same goes for the two Legends released so far.
I'm just going to say this ahead of time, THERE ARE SPOILERS HERE, so don't come crying to me after you read this and didn't want spoilers...here's just one more time, just to be safe.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
BABYSITTER-
A team of ODSTs are sent to take out a Prophet that has been stationed in a heavily populated sector of Covenant trade-space, but what they don't know is that a Spartan is sent to be the team's sniper; Cal-141.
I personally love this plot, the graphics, and the realistic feel to it all. I also liked how they pulled a fast one on us, making us thinking Cal's a male Spartan, when in truth, he is really a she. Its hard trying to imagine a female Spartan being that bulky...or even a male for that matter. The designs on the Covenant were grade-A, the Grunts' expressions were freakin' amazing! I nearly felt sorry for them when Cal and the ODSTs take them out...over all combat between the characters is great, because here, they're not limited to pixils and animations.
There were a few things that I didn't like about it...Cal's hair. Its ridiously long! We read through-out the Halo books the hair is cropped very short (in my opinion the longest it would be able to go would be past the ears), but her's is past her shoulders; how does that bunch all up into her helmet without clips? Another thing that urked me was the ruins. Now I'm just saying this because I've been raised on the awesome, high-tech looking Forerunner relics, but here they're just Japanise looking structures, and seeing how this series is made in Japan, it makes sense. And then finally the Prophet. He looks like Truth, he has the red robe and similar shoulder-pauldrons, which makes us assume he's probably a High Prophet...then he dies, so he can't be one of the three High Prophets from Halo. But those are just all little nit-picks I didn't like...but over all I enjoyed Babysitter and was pumped to watch the next segment of the saga...then I watch the Duel.
THE DUEL-
I was hoping this would be a good segment...it was to a certain point...but it was also not good. I won't get into the plot, due to the fact it was just released ffrom Waypoint yesterday...but this sparked the same problem we had back in Transformers: Unicron Trilogy, we go from this awesome anime...to crappy CGI. The Phantoms, Ghosts and Hunters are probably the only good looking thing here. The Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and Prophets all are in this bad CGI. We finally get to see a female Elite!...only for her to have a human face. The Elites in this don't have their imfamous split-jaws, instead it seems they can have them folded up and look like humans. Things just look to oriental and less technological, the weapons like Jackal Shields and Energy Swords look like metal over their traditional see-through-ness. And again with the Prophet, they seem to be just using the Truth model over and over again! It was a real let down, seeing as how I loved the Elites...the one good part though was the scene were Arbiter Fal casually cuts down the charing Grunt and seer size of the titanic Hunters. A Wraith only went to its midsection...how beastly is that?
If I had to rate these two, it'd be an eight for Babysitter, and three for Duel. Let me just say this if I hadn't already...I have nothing against Japanase culture or architech, but I would've liked it if they tried keeping it more so to the Halo serie's. I just hope the other Legends won't be as bad...
Well I'm off to lunch, ciao!

One day, I met a guy. He was eating a sandwich. I took it before he could bite it and proceeded to shoot it. It turned out to be a red SPY! The guy yelled at me for spoiling his sandwich. FML.
